This is one-on-one psychotherapy that can include various theoretical models depending on each patient’s needs. Psychotherapy can help patients gain increased insight about their problems and learn skills for managing them in more adaptive ways.
Also known as CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy is an evidence-based, active type of psychotherapy focused on thoughts, behaviors, and actions. It is mostly present-focused, and involves identifying and changing unhelpful ways of thinking, relating, and behaving so patients can lead more adaptive, healthier lives.
Also known as Mindful Awareness, this is the practice of maintaining a nonjudgmental state of heightened awareness and acceptance of one’s thoughts, feelings, and sensations. Mindfulness can help patients with a wide variety of mental health concerns by increasing their ability to tolerate and regulate negative thoughts and feelings.
Mindful Clinicians can provide diet and nutrition assessments and recommend changes to benefit a patient’s mental health and overall well-being. Referrals to more specialized services are also available.
As a concierge practice, Mindful Clinics offers house calls for patients who prefer the convenience of in-home consultation or cannot come to the office due to mental health or medical reasons. We can also meet patients at other locations of their choosing.
DETOXIFICATION & TREATMENT
OPIOID ADDICTION TREATMENT
Mindful Clinics provides treatment for users of opiate pain medications and heroin. Services include outpatient detoxification, medication management of cravings, and treatment of opioid dependence with partial opiate agonists like Suboxone.
Mindful Clinics provides treatment and detoxification services for patients dependent on alcohol and/or benzodiazepines (including Xanax and Klonopin). Services include medication management of underlying anxiety or insomnia, and when appropriate, outpatient detoxification or referrals to inpatient or residential detox facilities.
Mindful Clinicians help patients identify the triggers that result in relapse and create a plan to prevent this. Patients are taught to develop insight into maladaptive behaviors, master healthy coping skills, and create a plan to effectively self-manage crises.
Occupational therapists help people do the things they want and need to do, by identifying adaptations and routines that can help them function more effectively at work, in school, and at home. Occupational therapy provided by Mindful Clinicians includes social skills training, independent living skills, vocational coaching, and postpartum consultation.
Life coaches help patients reach specific life goals and make targeted lifestyle changes. This form of coaching is helpful for people who have achieved stable mental health, are action-oriented and very focused on the future.
REFERRALS FOR SOBER LIVING & RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT
Mindful Clinicians have established relationships with the sober living homes and residential treatment facilities in the Greater Los Angeles Area and beyond. When clinically appropriate, we provide referrals and consultation to patients needing residential services, coordinate care with treatment facilities and help patients and their family members understand the treatment process.
We are committed to the use of evidence-based treatments and practice integrative mental health care, combining medication management, psychotherapy, life coaching, mindful meditation, and occupational therapy to develop individualized treatment plans.
Mindful Clinics does not provide crisis intervention or crisis counseling. If you are in crisis or have suicidal thoughts, please call the 24/7 National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or go to your nearest emergency room.
